Bio-Safety Airlock Door
A modular automatic door system meant for passing micro-plates in and out of a BSL-2 level enclosure. Typically, two doors would be paired together with an airlock box and a handoff nest for robot or human access from either side of the enclosure wall.
Each door module used compressed air for actuation, had one electrical input for commanding open/closed state, and had four sensor outputs for confirming open/closed/intermediate state of both door panels. An additional control box (not pictured here) was required to coordinate door control with the overarching workcell control software.
